Volunteers Needed Volunteers are very important to the success of our programs at RLCB. According to the Bureau of Statistics of the U.S. Department of labor (2003-2004), 64.5 million people volunteered their time in some capacity. Many lives are touched by our volunteers and we always need more. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, we at RLCB welcome your call. Often, sharing a small period of time can mean a big step toward increased independence for our consumers with visual impairments or blindness. Be A Volunteer If you take pride in your community and have an interest in providing a service to those in need, Raleigh Lion's Clinic for the Blind has the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. As our agency continued to promote personal success and independence through employment, we are expanding this focus to include positive, personal development and quality of life. Volunteers are needed to serve as personal readers to visually impaired and blind individuals. Duties may include reading personal correspondence (mail, bills, articles, recipes, etc.) Additional duties may include assisting individuals with completing handwritten documents. Opportunities to record materials on cassette may be available. To volunteer, contact us at 919-256-4221.
